Oak Cliff Dance

 

Meeting called to order 8:15

Quorum met

 

Meeting began with a 20 minute barre class led by the owner of Oak Cliff Dance

 

Emily Ruth called the meeting to order.

Introducing ourselves to the group.

 

Nothing to report from Emily Ruth.

Sonya sent membership update 236 members currently.

Mom’s Night Out the previous week went well. Outdoor movie in Holmes’ backyard.

Kate VP Programs – family campout went really well. 12 families showed.

Next month’s meeting is the cookie exchange. Field to Meal is catering the event. Jenni Stolarski is hosting.

Cynthia VP Fundraising – Santa picture fundraiser did well. Raised over $1500.

Communications Jenifer – member profiles online are listed. This is a good way to locate phone

numbers and email addresses for members in our community.

Community Liaison Laura – The Well night went well. Lots of volunteers to serve and make

food. Lots of positive feedback. We will try to repeat it in the Spring.

Treasurer Ally – Balance at 10/19 meeting $22,143.98

            Deposits $1,708.12 (Santa photos and membership)

Checks -$1,896.80

Rosemont Liaison Kay – Good turnout at the last membership meeting at Rosemont. December

15th Holiday Hay Ride at Rosemont put on by the Dad’s Club and the PTA.

Volunteer Coordinator Kaitlin – Reminder to get in your 1 hour of membership volunteering

whether it’s delivering a meal or helping at an event.

RECPTA General Meeting

October 19th 2017

Meeting Called to order by Rosemont Liaison Kay Wood: 10:15 am , Quorum established


Presentation/Speaker: Discussion of what Rosemont offers, academically and socially with principal Rachel Moon. Review of upcoming Boo-Bash with PTA President Melissa Love-Tristan, introduction to Parent Liaison Brenda Landeros and a few second graders.


Motion to wave reading of the previous meeting minutes, seconded and approved. .



Treasurer (Ally, absent):  Beginning balance at the 9/21st general meeting was $23,303.46. Deposits: $1795, Checks: $2954.48. Ending balance as of 10/18: $22, 143.98


Membership (Sonya, absent): We currently have 174 general members and 45 alumni for a total of 219 members.  Please sign up for the general, playgroup and general interest groups the member center at recpta.org.


Programs (Kate): We had about 170 attendees for the Fall Family Party, a great turnout. For future events, please RSVP to help us get an accurate headcount. Next week is MNO at Neighborhood Cellar. We have one spot left for our family campout on November 3/4th. Next general meeting is November 16th at Oak Cliff Dance.  


Fundraising (Cynthia, absent): Nothing reported


Communications (Jenifer): Babysitter and preschool lists are updated on the website, located under the Resource tab. If you are not getting RECPTA emails and want to sign up for the recycle lists or any other group lists, you can do that by logging in, going to My Community in the Member Center tab.


Community (Laura, absent): Nothing reported


Rosemont Liaison (Kay Wood): Boo Bash Friday 10/27 from 4-7:30 pm. Garden club will be selling food from the Rosemont garden. We will send event reminders/notices for other upcoming family-friendly Rosemont events.


Volunteer (Kaitlin Snow, absent): Nothing to report


Sunshine (Lynn Blackburn, absent): We have two expecting this month and two expecting in November.

Motion to skip the reading of the previous meeting minutes (Norell and Brooke)

 

Treasurer’s Report: Marissa (not present)

Budget approval: went over the budget, we have more then 15 members present so we can establish quorum.  Motion by Ellie to approve budget, Norell seconds.  Budget has official passed and been approved.

 

Officer’s Report:

Membership: Kersten (not present) We have 166 general members and 59 alumni members.  Popsicle party is Sept 25th at 9:30am at the Kidd Springs Rec Center. 

Programs: Terri (present) we are still looking for a Childcare coordinator.  We have our first Mom’s Night Out at Bar Belmont next week.  Zoo Event is a private RECPTA event for members only on October 11th at 5pm.  Fall Retreat is being headed by Emily, need to sign up by Sept 1st and it is $150 a person.  Next General Meeting is going to be October 22nd at Anne’s house.

Fundraising: Brooke (present) April 1tst is the date of this year’s Auction at the Empire Room, with a Havana Nights theme.  Still looking for several volunteers. 

Community Liaison: Chrystal (not present) Mardi Gras participation, we will all be walking in the parade this year.  Perhaps we can get a lot of members to sign up for the 5K and we can do a group walk in the race.  All the money raised for this event goes to our local schools, so it’s a great partnership.  We secured Methodist as our big sponsor for the Auction.  October 11th is the Perky Pumpkin hosted by Methodist rom 2:30pm-4:00pm.

Sunshine: Maureen (not present) June through August 18 moms, 88 volunteers (53 meals for 10 moms in July), September we have 5 moms and 20 volunteers. 

Rosemont Liaison: Dori (present) The school needs box tops, so please collect them.  3rd Annual Rosemont’s Dads Club Bike-in-Movie, Oct 2nd at 7pm.  It’s $10 for BBQ dinner and kids are welcome.  Located on upper campus.

 

Unfinished Business: Terra (present) none to report

 

New Business: Terra (present) went over the ‘partner with us’ so everyone can have the opportunity to find sponsors for RECPTA.  Tomorrow is North Texas Giving Day, and  Kidd Springs needs our help.  Dallas announced today that Kidd Springs will be getting a new pool!! Next week there is a city meeting for final approval and we need all the support we can get.  We have it set up on the website that all money donated will go directly to the Kidd Springs project.  (Sept 22nd at 6pm at the Rec Center)

The general/volunteer appreciation meeting of the Rosemont Early Childhood PTA was called to order on May 22, 2015 at 8:39 pm at the home of Tish Thompson, by President Melissa Love-Tristan, the secretary being present.  A quorum was established. The minutes of the April 2015 General Meeting were waived and approved as distributed.
 
Treasurer's Report: Casey Cox
Balance as of 4/14: $30,288.03; Deposits: $ 2062.03; Disbursements: $1053.06; Balance as of 5/21 (which is mostly auction proceeds that still need to be disbursed to Rosemont): $31,297.

We want to thank each and every person who volunteered with RECPTA this year. While we had many, many volunteers who helped make this year so fun and successful, our VP board members would like to acknowledge their top 2-3 volunteers.
  • Norell Liddell thanks Steve Zabak for being a lifesaver starting the new website, transferring old database. Catherine Dodge for helping transfer data. Donna Distefano, for coordinating/restarting book club. Ellie Brin for helping with popsicle party, wine club, and hosting playgroups.
  • Emily Kaczmarczyk thanks Marysol Villanueva for taking on childcare this year. Emily Cannon for putting together great retreats. Heidi Maher and Anne Fahrenholz for hosting events at their homes. Melissa Love-Tristan for helping with Founders Day. Ally Newman for hosting all our board meetings.
  • Terri Polachek thanks all those who helped with the roaster and other small events this year. Specifically, Mandy Malloy for all the help with auction, along with Holli Haddix, Venesa Sokolovic and Jeanine.
